Fr. Justin’s Priestly Ordination: On 4 October 2014,
Year 2022 - 8th Anniversary of Fr. Justin’s Priestly Ordination: On 4 October 2014, the Lord Jesus laid hold of my life and forever changed it, allowing me to participate in his priesthood in a ministerial way, configuring me in persona Christi capatis (in the person of Christ the head). For eight years now, I have attempted (with mixed success!) to understand and live according to the consequences of that great and terrible Day of the Lord, and each year on this day, I ask the Lord for the grace to be a more faithful disciple and priest. I pray that each and every member of SHJ & SHM & St. Bernadette will have a deep and abiding desire to follow the Lord Jesus in the Way of the Cross at all costs. Being a disciple of Jesus Christ should be at the heart of each of our lives. Please pray for me as I pray for you.
SEMINARIANS Dear Friends in Christ, Just before he called the Twelve Apostles by name, the Lord Jesus said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; pray, therefore, the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest" (Matthew 9:37-38). In obedience to Christ’s command, we do pray for God to call young men to the service of the Church as priests, and our prayers are being answered. We presently have three young men as seminarians of the Archdiocese of Kingston. During their long years of training for the priesthood, these men depend upon our support, and I request that every family in the parish lift up these men to the Throne of Grace and ask the Lord to sustain them through the many trials of priestly formation and theological education. From time to time, especially at holidays, you might consider sending a card or note to offer a word of gratitude and encouragement. Their postal addresses are: Fr. Justin |
Prayer for Seminarians O Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, lead our seminarians in Your unerring footsteps; so that they may become priests who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom and heroes of sacrifice. Teach them generosity and detachment from worldly goods; but above all, teach them to know You and to love You, the One and Only Eternal Priests. Amen. |
